School Site Council
The School Site Council is a group of teachers, parents, and classified employees that works with the principal to develop, review and evaluate school improvement programs and school budgets. The members of the site council are generally elected by their peers — for example, parents elect the parent representatives and teachers elect teachers.
School Site Council Nominations
It's that time of year again! Durham Elementary is looking for nominations for interested parents who would like to be on School Site Council (SSC). We currently have three parent openings to fill for a two year term. We meet once monthly (approximately 7 times a year) from 3:00-4:00PM in the DES Multi-Purpose Room on the third or fourth Wednesday of the month (Tentative dates for 2024-2025 school year: 9/18/24, 10/16/24, 11/20/24, 1/22/25, 2/19/25, 3/19/25, and 4/16/25). The committee is provided information and data about curriculum, test scores, school safety, and many other important issues related to our school. The SSC also makes recommendations for our School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). If you or someone you know would be interested in being nominated, please fill out the attached form (provided in both English and Spanish) and send it to your child's teacher or the DES Office by Friday, September 6th.
