Student Anxiety

Note from the Counselor:

Student anxiety is the number one issue that I deal with on a daily basis. It is not only detrimental to a student's mental health, but also their physical health and academic success. If you have an anxious student, you are not alone! Many families are dealing with this same issue, and talking about it with your friends and social contacts can be a great source of support.

The good news is that anxiety is very treatable and there are many things that you can do to support your child.

Below are some links that give ideas how to help. If you are concerned about your child's anxiety, please reach out to me at mhalsey@durhamunified.org and we can work out a plan to help them at school, and I can supply you with a list of counselors and therapists that can help outside of school.
