DUSD Families and Staff,
This is Superintendent Joanne Parsley. Due to the President’s recommendation/orders to continue social distancing and to not gather in groups of 10 or more, the Butte County Office of Education issued a press release stating that all Butte County School facilities (including Durham Unified) will be closed to in-person instruction through the end of April.

While these are unprecedented times, the entire staff at DUSD is here to serve. Please continue to reach out to teachers, site administrators, or the district office if you have questions. The Distance Learning that was put in place several weeks ago for your students will continue.

While there is always the possibility of change in the uncertain time of COVID, the extended closure of school facilities sets the new return date for staff to Friday, May 1. 2020 with students returning for on-campus instruction beginning Monday, May 4, 2020.

Wishing you all good health and great day.

Be Well,
Joanne Parsley
Superintendent
Durham Unified School District
