DURHAM SCHOOL FAMILY,

SCHOOL CLOSURE EXTENDED THROUGH FRIDAY, APRIL 17 *
The Butte County Office of Education just announced that all Butte County schools (including Durham Unified School District) will be closed through Friday, April 17. We want our families to be the first to know so you can begin to plan for the extended closure.

Durham Unified administration and staff have been preparing contingency plans in the event of an announcement such as this. We are in the process of implementing our plan to provide Chromebook distribution for students who do not have a home computer available.
In addition, there are nutrition services opportunities for the youth in our community. We know there will be questions, and we will work to provide information to our families and staff as quickly as possible. Please expect another Black Board announcement from your child’s
principal.

We cannot thank you enough for your patience and flexibility as we navigate this national crisis. Education truly takes a community, and we have no doubt that we will all rise to the challenge as we have done so many times through these last few years. The well-being of our students is always our top priority as we plan for the next four weeks. We will continue to keep you updated as we learn more and as always, please do not hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns and suggestions.

Sincerely, Joanne
